Volunteer optometry practitioners brought vision checks and spectacle support into the community.

What happened

The pop-up clinic provided vision assessments, reading glasses where appropriate and prescription spectacle orders. The ordered prescription glasses were delivered later as part of the programme’s follow-up.

Activity notes

Basic blood pressure and glucose checks were offered alongside vision care. Residents needing further assessment were referred for professional follow-up.
